Over the past two weeks, Prof. Dr. Robert Katzschmann has embarked on an academic tour, visiting several prestigious universities across the United States. During these visits, he has delivered talks on cutting-edge topics such as musculoskeletal robotics, medical innovation, and advanced robotic fabrication, while engaging in insightful lab visits, demonstrations, and discussions with students, researchers, and faculty members.

Prototypes for Humanity Award

The ANGIE research project was honored with the «Prototypes for Humanity Award» in the «Health» category. At the Multi-Scale Robotics Lab of the D-MAVT, Fabian Landers and his team are developing magnetically controlled microcapsules that precisely release drugs in the human body.

Multidirectional Filamented Light Biofabrication Creates Aligned and Contractile Cardiac Tissues

Researchers at ETH Zurich, led by Prof. Robert Katzschmann, have pioneered a biofabrication technique for creating 3D cardiac tissues that closely replicate native myocardial tissue. By controlling the directionality and density of cardiac cells in 3D tissues, we’re setting new standards for cardiac biofabrication. This could have transformative applications in regenerative medicine and biohybrid robotic system.

New Autonomous Aerial Manipulation Platform Unveiled at CoRL 2024

We’re excited to share our latest research, presented at CoRL 2024, on an open-source autonomous aerial manipulation platform capable of grasping objects using onboard perception only. This innovative system, designed for real-world applications, demonstrates high success rates and adaptability without relying on external tracking.

Last week, we were delighted to welcome a delegation from Singapore to RELab ETH Zürich, as part of their visit to attend the CYBATHLON event. This gathering provided a fantastic opportunity to discuss our vision for implementing rehabilitation technologies along the continuum of care and to celebrate the unique, impactful collaboration with Singapore through the Future Health Technologies Programme at the Singapore-ETH Centre. A big thank you to the entire delegation for an enriching exchange!
