Simone Schürle

Simone Schürle

Simone was born in Ulm, Germany, 1985, and studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Karlsruhe. During her studies she focused in Micro Systems and Material Science. In 2005 she was involved in a student research project at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, in the field of Bio Mechanical Engineering.
Further practical experience she gained during an internship about Nano Imprint Lithography at SUSS MicroTec in Munich, Germany.
Subsequently, in 2008, she was enrolled at the University of Kyoto, Japan, to research about the assembly and electrical characterization of carbon nanotubes. She wrote her thesis about this topic and graduated in February 2009. After 4 months of traveling she joined IRIS as a PhD student. Her main interests are in nano fabrication techniques and novel applications of carbon nanotubes.
