Kathrin Peyer

Kathrin was born in 1982 in Sursee, Switzerland. She studied mechanical engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) with subject emphasis on robotics. During an internship she worked on the ExoMars project (the European mars rover project by ESA) at Oerlikon Space where she was responsible for the FE modeling of the flexible wheel prototypes. For her master thesis she worked with the artificial bacterial flagella (ABF), a swimming microrobot, focusing on its swimming characterization and fluid mechanical modeling. She joined the IRIS lab in November 2009. Her main academic interests are bio-inspired robots and biomedical engineering.
